Natural Areas News

December 2021

The Natural Areas Association (NAA) is an engaged community of peers and colleagues who form a resource that can respond to questions, propose ideas, share methodologies and advance best practices. Natural Areas News is just one way of many that we use to share reliable science, emerging challenges, best practices, and to celebrate achievements.

NAA Names 2021 Award Recipients

The Natural Areas Association recognizes the importance of celebrating the people and organizations that have made exceptional contributions to stewarding natural areas through two annual awards, the George B. Fell Award, and Carl N. Becker Award. These awards recognize those who have significantly advocated for and advanced research, methods or policy approaches for better identification and protection of natural areas.

On October 19, 2021, during the 2021 Natural Areas Conference, the NAA celebrated the following recipients.

George B. Fell Award for Lifetime Achievement - Dr. Glenn Patrick Juday, Professor Emeritus of Forest Ecology, University of Alaska Fairbanks
